Die Idee zu dieser Serie entstand ursprünglich aus einem Experiment: Bilder von Mannheim im Stil von Andreas Feininger aufzunehmen, der mit seinen Fotos von New York das Image dieser Stadt mitgeprägt hat.
Mit der Zeit entwickelte sich das Projekt weiter. Es kamen immer mehr Bilder anderer Städte hinzu und das Vorbild trat zugunsten meiner eigenen Sichtweise in den Hintergrund.
Es hat sich daraus eine Serie entwickelt, die das Lebensgefühl moderner Großstädte widergibt, aber die durch das Schwarzweiß etwas Zeitloses hat.
Metropolis
The idea for this series originally arose from an experiment: to take pictures of
Mannheim in the style of Andreas Feininger, who shaped the image of New York.
Over time, the project developed further. More and more pictures of other cities were added and the example receded into the background in favor of my own perspective.
The result is a series of photographs that reflects the attitude to life in modern cities, but that has something timeless thanks to the black and white.
